B.Home House Guidelines

At B.Home, we believe that building a successful community starts with the individual. That’s why we’re asking all B.Home guests to follow the ground rules listed below. If each of us does our part, we can make the B.Home a better living experience for everyone.

GENERAL

  • Quiet hours are 11pm-8am Monday through Friday. Be mindful of talking loudly, and high TV or music volume.

  • If you use up paper towels or toilet paper, replace it from the house supply and recycle empty rolls.

  • No smoking in the house.

  • Both resident and non-resident attendees of community events should help to clean up afterwards.

  • Shoes can be worn in the house, but should be stored either on the shoe racks or in personal rooms.

COMMON SPACE

One of the best parts about living in communal housing is being able to hang out with people in the house, but that also means that our house gets dirty pretty quickly! We ask everyone to participate in daily schmoo clean up (schmoo is defined as residual life mess in the common rooms from many people using the same space). This includes but is not limited to:

  • Check if the trash and recycling needs taking out

  • Check if dishwasher needs to be start or emptied and change magnet accordingly

  • Empty drying rack

  • Empty and start robot vacuum

  • Wipe down table and kitchen counters

For our residents staying for a week or longer, we ask that you help assist with one or more of the following tasks each week:

  • Moving trash bin and recycling bin to and from curb

  • Wash and dry a load of communal laundry

  • Clean communal fridge

If you’re using the common space, please make sure that you leave the place the same as, if not better than you found it. This means taking any personal items, cups, empty plates, etc. with you when leaving the common area, and shutting off the light if you’re the last person to leave.

To be considerate of other B.Home guests, we ask that no remote meetings take place in common spaces, and instead be conducted in personal rooms, on the patios, or at the resident’s separate office space.

KITCHEN

Because the kitchen is shared by everyone in the house, we ask that you clean up after yourself each time you use it. This means that dirty dishes should be placed in the dishwasher or immediately hand washed, spills should be cleaned up, and the sink cleared of all food remnants.

If you see that he trash or recycling is full, take it out. Dumpsters are located next to the driveway. Cardboard boxes should be flattened and taken out to the recycling bin immediately.

COMMUNAL FRIDGE

Located in the kitchen is our communal fridge – guests can use the fridge to share kitchen staples and groceries with other residents staying at B.Home. The communal fridge operates under an honor system – if you take from the communal fridge, please make sure you are also contributing equally either by donating to the communal fridge pot or replenishing the fridge.

Food and groceries for personal use can be stored in the personal fridge located in the laundry room.

PERSONAL ROOMS

To keep our house pest free, please make sure that empty dishware and food are not left in your room when unoccupied. We also ask that you turn off the light when leaving your room. If you plan on subletting, please put away personal belongings in closets or drawers.

GUESTS

Guests are allowed, but please post in the residents Discord channel if there are 3 or more guests over. Hosts will be responsible for ensuring house guidelines are not violated by guests. Overnight guests are also allowed, but please let the Community Manager know beforehand.
